okay. this may sound a bit wierd, but i believe it very much, and also a tiny bit of evidence that this could very well happen...
i think that in books 12-14, or any inbeetween, taht the great gahoole tree will fight its self. i think that a strange influence of the Ember of hoole will drive the loyal guardians to fight eachother. the small bit of evidence for this is that, in kathryn laskys newest mothly(or in her case, 6 monthly) letter, she gave us a smal hint at the golden trees plot, the hint was this "all that is gold is not good" since the beeok is called the "The GOLDEN tree" does that not speak for itself, all is not good in the golden great gahoole tree.

if you've noticed lasky is f****** up with book titles...she probably doesn't even know what she meant by that but I think it's gonna start like most civil wars start: One person has an opinion, another person has a different opinion. People take sides with whatever they think is right, then fight for that opinion. Maybe that opinion is what to do with the Ember, Nyroc may want to keep it (or destroy it) while other think the opposite. Maybe this war will put friend vs. friend (gylife vs soren) or sibling vs. sibling (eglantine vs. soren)

that wont happen, i think a civil war in the great tree WILL happen. but soren and eglantine or soren and gylfie will never go aginst eachother, never.
probably aobut what they will do wit the ember. or maybee even what they will do about nyra. pr maybe they dont even know what they will be fighting about, the ember might dirve the 'stark raving yoicks'

What better ending could there be but turning your favorite characters against themselves? I love it when that happens.

"But not all that’s good is gold. And that is the only hint I shall give about the ominous, indeed sinister, happenings that have begun to take hold of the Great Ga’Hoole Tree."
that was from Kathryn lasky latest newsletter, could that not be more clear?

A civil war would indeed be an interesting concept. But many summaries I've read describe Coryn leaving the Tree and wandering the owl world to find out if hag blood truly runs through his family - and himself. I'm just glad to see the characters we started with back in action. I enjoyed the Legends, but Soren and The Band will always come first.

i feel the same way, meverick(about back to the normal characters) but its nice to know that we know all about hoole and all that. besids, without the legends, we wouldnt know half the stuff that was going on! book 13(my fan-fiction) will be about a civil war in the great tree.
thats very true, maverick. about coryn leaving. but maybe, maybe while they are all gone they might fight? i

I was 'just' thinking that. While Coryn is gone, the Guardians will no longer have a king to keep them in line. Without proper organization, diverse opinions form. HT is right with the 'Not all that's good is gold'.

thanks. but it keeps me wondering, the guardians have lived without a king for thousands of years, actaully, i think exactly a thousand years from when they finsihed the legends, right? well anyways, why would they suddenly not be okay witout a king? but then i thought maybe the ember made them feel a certain way when it was there, and maybe Coryn took it with him on his journey, and that certain feeling was gone, and it made them go yoicks or something. or maybe he leves it behind, and they all want to get at it.

But keep in mind they 'did' have kings and queens before Coryn arrived. What would you call Boron and Baran, then?
